What a birth chart can and can’t tell you.
A birth chart is a map of the sky at the moment and place you were born: where the Sun, Moon and planets stood against the twelve signs. People disagree about what it means. Here is a plain account of what it can and cannot do, so you can decide how much weight to give it.
What a chart can offer
A chart gives you vocabulary. Many of us circle the same themes for years, such as belonging, boundaries, self-worth and how much to give, without ever naming them. A good reading puts words and structure around those themes and turns each one into a question you can ask yourself.
It also gives you a reason to sit down and think. A line about your Moon sign is only useful if you stop and check it against your own memory. Does this sound like me? When did I last feel it?
What a chart cannot do
It cannot predict what will happen to you. Controlled tests have not shown that astrology predicts events or personality, and anyone who promises you a certain outcome is selling something. It cannot tell you whom to marry, which job to take or whether to have a child. It is not therapy, and it is not medical, legal or financial advice. If you feel overwhelmed or unsafe, talk to someone you trust or to a qualified professional.
How to use one well
Treat every line as a question, not a verdict. Underline what sounds like you. Cross out what does not. Notice which lines make you defensive, because those are often worth a second look. And keep the final word for yourself.
How we use it at Rasa
Rasa Varsh · Made for you is built from your Vedic chart, calculated from your date, time and place of birth. The book says near the front what it is not, and it leaves space on every page for you to disagree. The other version, Rasa Varsh, uses no astrology at all. Both rest on the same idea: a year is easier to understand when you stop and look at it.
